About Ascot (GB)

Ascot is a beautiful town in Berkshire. The town is dominated by the spectacular racecourse. Certainly one of the world’s best and most famous.

Ascot Racecourse can trace its history back into 1711 when Queen Anne organized the first meeting. The recently redeveloped racecourse of today is a feast for the eyes – with huge terraces and immaculate grounds.

June is the prime race time. Although Ascot is arranged all year round, nothing is comparable to Royal Ascot – an incredible show of world-class horse racing, extravagant hats and social contacts on an epic scale. You will also see members of the Royal Family process every day at 2 pm during Royal Ascot – a tradition dating back to 1825.

Away from the races you will find an attractive city with many shops and restaurants, but also lively bars and music venues. It might be appropriate, because Ascot is the place where Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding was born.

Ascot is just 6 miles from the historic town of Windsor and the world-famous Windsor Castle.

The Savill Garden is just a 15-minute drive from Ascot and is one of the most ornate ornamental gardens in the UK.

The Look Out Discovery Center near Bracknell is located in the heart of an ancient forest and has more than 70 interactive scientific exhibitions for the whole family to discover. Go for a fantastic climbing adventure to the Go Ape adventure course, also located in the Bracknell forest.
