About Achenkirch (AT)

Achenkirch is a municipality in the district of Schwaz in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Achenkirch consists of several villages in the Achental, located from the northern point of Lake Achen to the Achen Pass near the border with the German Bavaria.

Achenkirch lies at 930 meters at the foot of an impressive mountain landscape. There are good facilities in and around the Christlum ski area, the largest part of the region. For the lift you have to be just outside the village.

The place seems smaller at first glance than it is, but the village is pretty elongated and has nice restaurants, bars and cafes. Achenkirch is often overrun by German day-trippers at the weekend, Munich is around the corner!

There is also plenty to do for non-skiers. There are several hiking trails around Achenkirch and with the free ski bus you are in Maurach and Pertisau where cross-country skiers can fully enjoy themselves.
